Ashmead’s Kernel and Reinette Musquee (also known as Margil) originated in England and France in the early 1700s. They are both classic russet varieties cherished for fresh eating as well as cider. Chris Negronida, one of our cider makers, conjured up this varietal blend a few years ago, and we all loved it! This blend was cold fermented and then bottle conditioned in the traditional method champenoise.
