In many ways this was the wine that started it all! The very first wine we ever made back in our basement days was RED(ish) and every year I tried to find an excuse to get back to it but the stars just wouldn't align for us. In 2023 we finally had what we needed to make this and we're so delighted it's out in the world! It's a simple story, really: a juicy, joyful co-fermentation of Traminette and Noiret with 6-7 maceration before press. Some of our wines can be a little tricky to describe but not this one. It's simple, straightforward and absolutely crushable!

Brand for Chertok Wines, LLC
Chertok Wines is a family farm-winery growing apples and grapes in the tiny town of Shoreham, Vermont, one of New England’s premier apple terroirs. Chertok is a family name meaning ‘little cherti’ referring to the folkloric Russian spirits that were believed to animate the world that later became reframed as demons. The Rose-Chertok family focuses on producing natural country wines with an emphasis on long macerations, Qvevri aging and fermenting both crops together. The devilishly styled Chertok wines are fresh, playful and bottled avec schmutz!
