Located in Maidens, VIrginia, Courthouse Creek adheres to natural methods of cider making. Our ciders are free from sulfites and all other additives, and we finish our ciders to dry. Indeed, we like to say, "we're not sweet, we're cider!" We also do not filter or fine our cider, and ferment and/or age everything in used barrels. While we did use some cultured yeasts in the past, this is no longer be the case beginning with the 2019 harvest.
We are the only cidery in Virginia to adhere to these natural methods, and one of a select few to do so on the east coast. We also grow heirloom cider apples with little intervention, using only minimal organic sprays and holistic methods to grow our fruit.. As we wait for our orchard to mature, we source all of our apples locally.
