Alcohol Content: 14.5%
Tasting Notes:
Our Zinfandel Reserve was aged for 18 months in a combination of neutral and Hungarian oak. This wine offers a captivating balance of rich fruit and subtle oak influences.
Aroma:
Ripe blackberries and cherries on the nose, complemented by hints of dried herbs and warm spice. The subtle integration of Hungarian oak introduces nuances of vanilla and toasted almond.
Palate:
On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a mellow texture. Bright red fruit flavors and plum are met with tannin and a backbone of acidity. The oak aging lends a delicate spice and a touch of smokiness, enhancing the wine's overall complexity without overshadowing its fruit character. Contrary to our original Zinfandel, the finish on the Reserve is more tannic.
Food Pairing:
This Zinfandel pairs well with grilled lamb, herb-crusted pork, or a hearty ratatouille. Its versatility also makes it a delightful companion to aged cheeses and dark chocolate desserts.
Aging Potential:
While approachable now, this wine will continue to evolve over the next 5-7 years, developing even greater depth and character.
