A dry cider re-fermented on wild grapes.
5% Vitis riparia, 5% Vitis labrusca, 90% apple blend.
Fresh cranberries and raspberries from the riparia, soft Concord-esque "grape" from the labrusca, green brambles, malic acid structure, and frizzante bubbles.
While usually We're Laughing drinks like a crisp summer picnic wine, this vintage leans into fall and winter with more softness and texture, more tannins, and a perceptual sweetness from the V. labrusca (the wild parent grape to the famous Concord).
By its nature, it reminds us that wine is, first and foremost, an agricultural product. 2023 was a difficult year for fruit due to a late frost, and so the vines I normally forage in and around the farm had no fruit. I ventured up into the Catskills with my friends at Dear Native Grapes, where we found juuuust enough riparia, plus a lone few vines of wild V. labrusca, to make We're Laughing.
Foraged at ripeness, pressed pigeage à pied, and fermented natively, whole cluster, for two weeks before adding them to cider to finishing fermenting slowly to dry on the skin, stems, and seeds. Two months skin contact. Bottle conditioned & aged another 6 months before release. This fruit wine is raw, unfiltered, and unfined.
Named after a song by the Psychedelic Aliens early
in the pandemic in hopes of a time we can all laugh together again.

Greenpoint Cidery is a handcrafted, natural hard cider coming to you from Hudson, NY via Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
Fermented from all New York apples, it is 100% dry, aged on the lees, unfiltered, and in a farmhouse style. Each cider is hand made traditionally in small batches with minimal intervention. Any added ingredients in limited release ciders are made with elements foraged from the surrounding land. Because it’s made by hand, each batch, and each bottle, is unique.
Greenpoint Cidery is owned and run by Nika Carlson. Carlson fell in love with cider as a Brooklyn bar owner, and inspired by the Spanish, French, and traditional American cider she adored, transitioned to orchardist and cider maker (and designer (and distributor (and keg cleaner))). She is based in Brooklyn, and grows apples and makes cider in Hudson, NY.
