Two George Cyder Dry with a hint of citrus, this bittersharp colonial-style cider aims at authenticity, as in pre-revolutionary times. Made entirely from the fruit of apple trees whose 18th century heritage is tracible to the colonies, Two George Cyder is a still cider, with just a little “petulance” that would have accompanied colonial ciders drawn from the cask into bottles moments before serving. Pleasantly refreshing, this cider reveals its pedigree with an unmistakable nose of fragrant apple, and the taste of crisp, clean tannins that are subtly reminiscent of nutmeg. This is a very drinkable cider, although best when chilled, and one which we especially recommend for Thanksgiving and the 4th of July, just to get into the spirit of things. It pairs well with wild game, aged cheese, stronger fish like sardines and anchovy, and pork of all descriptions. 8% ABV Available in .75liter.

Notes

A blend of Hewe's Virginia Crab, Albemarle Pippin, Old Virginia Winesap, Wickson Crab, Kingston Black, Wagener and Roxbury Russet. All of these cider-making apples' linages date back to America before 1776.
This cider has won medals in the New York Cider Competition, Great Lakes International Cider and Perry Competition, Great American Cider Competition, and the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Association

Brand for Muse Orchard
We have been exclusively interested in sparkling wines for over 20 years, and have developed cava-style cider under the brand Widow's Watch as well as champagne-style sparkling wine, which we sell under the brand Sappho. We use only the time-consuming méthode champenoise for both our cider and our sparkling wines, and we only use champagne-region grapes of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier for our sparkling wines. In addition to our sparkling wines and ciders, we have planted heirloom cider apples whose linage predate the American Revolution to recreate the lively, fresh taste of colonial cider.
We typically age our ciders and sparkling wines from 1 to 3 years in our underground cave/cellar.
