100% Chardonnay from our Tucker Lane vineyard in Southold, NY. Sustainably managed. Harvested intentionally on the early side to retain crispness and freshness. The fruit was separated in three. One third was pressed into barrel, one third pressed into stainless steel, and the final third was given 2 days of skin contact before pressing into barrel. All of it was wild yeast fermented with no additions or subtractions. Blended all together and bottled with no filtration. Just 50 ppm total Sulfur added in a couple additions after initial racking. We have been slow to warm up to full skin contact white wines, generally preferring crisp and fresh, but this partial skin contact component provides a nice texture and some aromatic intrigue to this otherwise crisp white wine.
We are a small farm vineyard and winery in midcoast Maine. Real wine since 2007.
