Arancione, italian for "orange" describes this wine's color, fermented on the skins of Frontenac Gris to dryness. This orange wine has the tannin and body of a red wine but the fruitiness of a white. Fermented a week on skins, then pressed and finished fermenting juice only.
Orange wines are the opposite of rosé wines. Rosé is a red wine made like a white wine (NOT fermented on the skins) and Orange wines are whites made like reds (ferment on the skins and seeds.) Great with fish, fowl and strong cheeses!
