Spur is a smoked cider made with early season apples. As fans of smoked beverages like rauchbier, grodziskie, mezcal, and peated whiskeys – we wanted to create something that brings these same flavors to cider. We took Paula Red, Lodi, William’s Pride, and Yellow Transparent apples and smoked them in our smoker using applewood, then fermented them spontaneously until finally blending them with some Winesap cider for balance.
The result tastes like cinnamon apple sauce, dried pears, and peated citrus.
